Growing up candles were rarely ever burning at home. My mom always stressed that candles were dangerous and we may all go up in flames if one was lit. Granted, my mom does burn candles occasionally now that we are older! So candles were only used on special occasions like during Christmas dinner. When I moved out I knew I had to start my candle collection. My husband and I enjoy candles the most during the fall and winter because it makes everything feel warm and cozy. We even started making our own! 🙂 I received an email from Bath & Body Works that they were having a sale on all 3-wick candles. On Saturday I headed over to the mall and picked up a few fall candles I can’t wait to burn. Now I really feel like autumn is in the air!
Autumn Sunshine is the perfect transition candle moving from summer into fall. The orange scent gives a summery feel but the green fir needle pulls in cooler weather vibes. This will be the first candle I am going to burn from these four. The description on the bottom notes the fragrance includes chilled orange, California mandarin, golden amber, and green fir needle.
When I smell Leaves it takes me to a cool October afternoon drinking cider at an apple orchard. It’s a warm scent that doesn’t seem overly strong, which I really like! Fragrance notes include crisp red apple, golden nectar, and warm clove spice. Smelling this candle makes me so excited for the leaves to change color and something warm from Starbucks. Even though I’m not even a a big fan of coffee! 🙂
Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin
Usually I am not drawn to candles that smell like food but who can resist a pumpkin candle?! Pumpkin is the epitome of fall in New England! Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin makes me so excited for Thanksgiving with loads of delicious food and family time. Fragrance notes include harvest pumpkin, spiced clove, vanilla cream, and brown sugar. I will definitely be burning this during the holidays.
Crisp Morning Air
I can’t stop taking the lid off of this candle to breathe in the delicious scent. Crisp Morning Air makes me think of men’s cologne and let me just say, I don’t hate it! Fragrance notes include crisp fall breeze, white oak, golden amber wood, saffron, and soft sandalwood. Also, how do you make a candle smell like crisp fall breeze (as in the notes)? However it is done, it smells SO good!
Pure White Cotton
Alright, I’ll admit, I couldn’t help but buy one more candle! It’s not a fall scent – it actually reminds me of summertime. Clean laundry smells are easily at the top of my list for scents in general. Who doesn’t love the smell of clean sheets and the ocean? Laundry detergent, air fresheners, perfumes, etc. in my home all include fresh cotton scents. Fragrance notes include sea air, creamy white coconut and soft gardenia petals to evoke cool, crisp cotton sheets. Right when I got home from the store I lit this candle. I can guarantee this candle will be completely burned out in a few short weeks.
The sale ends tonight at Bath & Body Works so if you’re interested, don’t wait! This is my first time burning the 3-wick candles and I am super impressed with the scent and even burning of the wax. All of my Yankee Candles have wax that is lopsided from inconsistent burning and it takes hours for them to even out.
What are your favorite fall scents and candles to burn? Are there any not on this list that you recommend I should try? Always looking for new suggestions!
