Happy Monday! I love these types of weeks, the workdays are busy but not overwhelming so I can get out at a reasonable hour. Then I head home to cook dinner or head to the gym. Or to sit on the couch and catch up on Bachelor in Paradise. 😉 Recently, I tried a Strong by Zumba class… anyone else try one before? I take Zumba classes and really like them, but this class was different to say the least. Anything that involves burpees is not my cup of tea! 😉 I made it through but was SO sore the next day, I could barely sit down! I haven’t been on my A-game when it comes to consistently going to the gym since I got back from my honeymoon. Which was almost 4 months ago…. But now I am trying to get back into a routine. I decided it was new sneaker time!
New Sneaker Time
In order to help transition to my gym routine, I decided it was time for new sneakers. My current pair is worn in the soles and has NO cushioning. A lot of physical activity was causing my feet, especially my heels, to hurt! Which definitely made me avoid the gym at all costs. I did a ton of research to find a new pair of sneakers. There are so many options, but I decided on the ASICS Gel-Exalt 2 Running Shoe!
Selling Points For Me
Great Customer Reviews
Not only have I heard great things about ASICS sneakers in general. But on Amazon, the sneaker has almost 600 customer reviews at 4 1/2 stars! I definitely rely on reviews when buying a new product so this was a huge plus.
Marathon Trainers Love Them
A number of customers said they were training for marathons and the shoe was working out great. So, why couldn’t it work for me too?! The sneaker has a shock-absorbing rearfoot GEL cushioning system, which made me excited for more support in the heel.
At less than $50 this sneaker is totally budget friendly. It looks like the prices on Amazon are reflected in the quantity available and where it’s sold from… so the price has gone up. BUT, I found this sneaker on other websites closer to the $50 mark. Check it out HERE and HERE. I really didn’t want to spend a fortune on sneakers because I also like barre classes, where you’re wearing just socks.
Wicked Cute Color Options
I decided on the “Lighting, Coral, and Turquoise” but there are so many colorful options to choose from! The coral is definitely MUCH brighter in person, more like neon pink. But thankfully the gray balances it out.”Ice Blue, White, and Hot Pink” is also super pretty if you’re looking to make a statement at the gym! 🙂
I still need to break these in but I wore them to Strong by Zumba and even after burpees, jumping jacks, and high knees my feet did not hurt! Hopefully these sneakers will work out and become even more comfortable after they mold to my feet. If you’re looking for a new pair of sneakers, I would recommend checking out the ASICS Gel Exalt-2 Running Shoe. Let me know your thoughts if you have tried these or what your go to sneaker is for the gym!
